This glossary defines 45 company law, GST and income-tax terms in plain words, with the new form numbers from 1 April 2026. Three that are often confused: GSTR-1 reports sales invoice by invoice, while GSTR-3B is the summary return that pays the tax and claims credit; AOC-4 files the financial statements within 30 days of the AGM, while MGT-7 or MGT-7A is the annual return within 60 days; TDS is deducted by the payer, while TCS is collected by the seller.

Plain definitions of the forms, numbers and terms that come up in Indian company, GST and income-tax compliance, each linked to the guide that explains it in full. Form and section numbers follow the Income-tax Act, 2025 and the Income-tax Rules, 2026, in force from 1 April 2026.
