FilingBase keeps your books every month in Tally Prime or Zoho Books, reconciled to the bank, with GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B included in every plan: ₹2,999 a month for up to 100 transactions, ₹5,999 for up to 300 and ₹11,999 for up to 750, plus GST. TDS returns are included from the Growth plan. If you already use one of those programs, we work in your file, and companies must use software with an audit trail that cannot be switched off.
What our bookkeeping service covers
Bookkeeping is recording every sale, purchase, expense and bank movement as it happens. Accounting turns those records into a profit and loss statement, a balance sheet and the figures your GST and TDS returns are built from. We do both every month, so the returns, the books and the bank statement always agree.
Books are a legal requirement, not a nice-to-have. A company must keep books of account at its registered office on the double-entry and accrual basis under section 128 of the Companies Act, 2013, and preserve them for eight years. Since 1 April 2023 a company that keeps its books in software must use software with an audit trail (an edit log) that cannot be switched off. An LLP keeps books under section 34 of the LLP Act, 2008. Every GST-registered business must keep the accounts and records listed in section 35 of the CGST Act and retain them for 72 months from the due date of the annual return for that year.
Most small businesses run into trouble in the gap between bookkeeping and returns: sales filed in GSTR-1 that are not in the books, input credit claimed from purchase bills that the supplier never reported, TDS deducted but never deposited. Keeping the books and filing the returns in one place closes that gap.
Why businesses move their books to FilingBase
GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B are part of every plan, filed from the same books, not billed on top.
Bank, cards and payment gateways are matched monthly, so year-end is a check, not a rescue.
We work in your Tally Prime or Zoho Books file. The books stay yours, with full access at any time.
One person knows your business, backed by a chartered accountant who reviews the numbers.
Books close in time for GSTR-1 on the 11th and GSTR-3B on the 20th, or the QRMP dates if you file quarterly.
Ledgers, reconciliations and schedules are kept the way an auditor or an investor's diligence team will ask for them.

Which plan fits your volume
| Your business | Transactions a month | Plan |
|---|---|---|
| Consultant, freelancer or early-stage startup | Up to 100 | Starter, ₹2,999 |
| Agency, trading business or D2C brand with staff paid by contract | Up to 300 | Growth, ₹5,999 |
| Company with employees, inventory or several bank accounts | Up to 750 | Scale, ₹11,999 |
| Above 750 transactions, multiple GSTINs or branches | Above 750 | Quoted in writing |
One transaction is one sales invoice, purchase bill, expense voucher, bank entry or journal entry. If a month runs over the limit, we tell you before billing, and you decide whether to move up a plan.
Choosing outsourced bookkeeping: what to check
What counts as a transaction
Bookkeeping prices in India are usually set by monthly volume. We count one transaction for each sales invoice, purchase bill, expense voucher, bank entry or journal entry. A business raising 40 invoices, booking 30 bills and running 50 bank entries a month has about 120 transactions, which is the Growth plan.
Tally Prime or Zoho Books
Both meet the audit trail requirement for companies when the edit log is enabled. Tally Prime suits businesses with inventory and an accountant on site; Zoho Books suits service businesses that want invoicing, bank feeds and online access in one place. If you already use one, we work in it. If you are starting fresh, we recommend one based on how you invoice and who needs access.
What an outsourced accountant should give you each month
- A bank reconciliation that ties to the statement balance
- GST returns filed from the books, with any difference explained
- A list of input credit at risk because a supplier has not filed
- Receivables and payables ageing, so overdue money is visible
- A P&L you can compare with last month and last year
When bookkeeping stops being enough
Once you are raising money, borrowing against receivables or making decisions on margins and runway, you need forecasts and analysis on top of the books. That is the work of a virtual CFO, and it sits on top of any of the plans above.

At the end of the year
Because the books are closed and reconciled every month, year-end is short: we finalise depreciation, provisions and closing entries, and hand the trial balance and schedules to your auditor. On the Scale plan we prepare the year-end finalisation and support the audit.
The annual return, the income-tax return and the company's annual ROC filings are separate engagements, and we quote them alongside your plan so you see the full year's cost in one place. See annual compliance and ITR for business.
Frequently asked questions
How much do bookkeeping services cost per month?
On FilingBase, ₹2,999 a month for up to 100 transactions, ₹5,999 for up to 300 and ₹11,999 for up to 750, plus GST at 18%. GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B are included in every plan. Above 750 transactions, or with several GSTINs, we quote in writing.
Are GST returns included in the bookkeeping fee?
Yes. Every plan includes GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B, monthly or under QRMP. TDS returns are included from the Growth plan.
Which accounting software do you use?
Tally Prime or Zoho Books. If you already use one, we work in your file, so the data stays with you. Companies must use software with an audit trail that cannot be disabled, and both support it.
Can you clean up books that are months behind?
Yes. We review the backlog first and quote the catch-up work separately, so the monthly plan starts from clean, reconciled books.
Is bookkeeping mandatory for a small business?
For companies and LLPs, yes, under the Companies Act and the LLP Act. GST-registered businesses must keep the records in section 35 of the CGST Act. Sole proprietors must keep books once their income or turnover crosses the limits in section 44AA of the Income-tax Act.
Can you work alongside my existing CA?
Yes. Many clients keep their auditor or tax adviser and use us for monthly books and returns. We hand over the trial balance and schedules at year-end in the format they ask for.
Is there a lock-in period?
No. Plans run month to month and you can change or stop with one month's notice.
