Registering a company in Pune costs ₹999 plus GST with us, plus Maharashtra stamp duty of ₹1,400 at ₹1 lakh of authorised capital; MCA charges no incorporation fee up to ₹15 lakh. Every address in Pune district, from Hinjewadi to Pimpri-Chinchwad, reports to ROC Pune.
Registering a company in Pune in 2026
Pune companies are incorporated online like any other, and the registrar for the whole district is ROC Pune, which also covers Ahmednagar, Kolhapur, Solapur, Satara, Sangli, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg and was left unchanged by the 2026 restructuring. That makes Pune simpler than Mumbai, where the district decides between two registrars. Electricity in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad comes from MSEDCL, so its bill is the usual address proof, and offices are rented on leave and licence agreements that Maharashtra requires to be registered.
Documents required
From each director or partner: PAN, Aadhaar (or a passport for a foreign national), a recent bank statement or utility bill as address proof, a photograph, and a mobile number and email.
For the Pune registered office: an MSEDCL (Mahavitaran) electricity bill (or a water or gas bill) not more than two months old, a no-objection certificate from the owner and, if the premises are rented, the registered leave and licence agreement. A residential address in Pune is acceptable.
The complete checklist is on the private limited company registration page.

Maharashtra rules that apply after incorporation
Which ROC you report to
| ROC | Area |
|---|---|
| ROC Pune | Pune, Ahmednagar, Kolhapur, Solapur, Satara, Sangli, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg |
Annual filings and event-based forms such as a change of registered office or directors go to the ROC for your registered office, so moving the office can change your ROC.
GST registration in Maharashtra
Maharashtra’s GST state code is 27, the first two digits of every GSTIN registered there. A business with offices or warehouses in more than one state needs a separate registration in each. GST registration costs ₹299 all-in; there is no government fee.
Shops and establishments
Pune follows the Maharashtra Shops and Establishments (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 2017. With ten or more workers an establishment registers online (Form A) within 60 days of starting; with fewer than ten it files an online intimation (Form F). Both are free on Aaple Sarkar, and a certificate can be taken for up to ten years. Our shops and establishments guide compares the states.
Professional tax
Maharashtra levies professional tax: ₹200 a month and ₹300 in February (₹2,500 a year) for men earning above ₹10,000 a month and women above ₹25,000. The employer takes a PTRC and the company a PTEC, both free and online. See the professional tax guide.
State startup support
Maharashtra State Innovation Society (MSInS) is the nodal agency for the state’s startup policy and runs its startup support schemes. Central recognition is separate: see Startup India (DPIIT) registration.
Which entity to choose
Private limited company, LLP or OPC: the comparison guide sets out who each one suits.
Setting up your registered office in Pune
Electricity bill as address proof
Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad are supplied by MSEDCL (Mahavitaran), so the registered office proof is usually an MSEDCL bill not more than two months old. In an IT park or co-working centre the bill is in the operator’s name, so the operator’s no-objection letter and your agreement go with it.
Local body by locality
| Locality | Local body | ROC |
|---|---|---|
| Kharadi, Viman Nagar, Baner, Hadapsar (Magarpatta) | Pune Municipal Corporation | ROC Pune |
| Pimpri, Chinchwad, Wakad, Bhosari | Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation | ROC Pune |
| Hinjewadi (Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park) | Mulshi taluka, in the PMRDA planning region | ROC Pune |
All three are in Pune district, so the ROC is the same; the local body matters later, for property tax, signage and anything the corporation licenses. Pune is simpler than Mumbai here: one distributor and one ROC, where in Mumbai the district decides between ROC Mumbai-I and Mumbai-II.
Leave and licence agreement
Pune offices follow the same Maharashtra rules as Mumbai: the agreement must be registered under section 55 of the Maharashtra Rent Control Act, 1999, stamp duty is 0.25% under Article 36A, and it can be registered online through IGR Maharashtra. The Mumbai page sets out how the duty is worked out.
Meeting us in person
Your filing is handled online by a named professional at LexVerge LLP, with our Mumbai office for anything in person.
After incorporation
The company files INC-20A within 180 days and appoints its first auditor within 30 days; the rest of the year-one calendar is in annual compliance for a private limited company and for an LLP.
